It was a gorgeous day in May 2017 and Alex and Kate decided to spend their vacation relaxing in our beautiful city of Vancouver. Between the two of them, marriage has always been an exciting subject of discussion. With Kate being an experienced wedding planner, she’s always wondered how her sweetheart would pop the question. No matter how hard Kate would try to get it out of him, Alex never let his ideas for the perfect proposal slip.
So how did it all go down? Keep reading to see how we pulled off this perfect proposal for Kate and Alex!
How Their Love Story Began as Told by Kate
“I met Alex in the Fall of 2014 on a blind date during my final year of university. Although we were complete strangers, we still decided to meet at Starbucks to see what each other was all about. On our second date, I made him dinner (there’s a really funny story behind that one). On our 5th date, he played a song that he wrote just for me called, “Pumpkin Spice Latte”. Two years later, we’re still the same people, just a lot better at cooking and singing. It’s the kind of love that I count my lucky stars for.”
How He Asked the Girl of his Dreams
The day started off with Kate and Alex exploring Vancouver with eating and shopping around the city. As the evening approached, the two got ready for a romantic dinner, for what Kate thought was just going to be a perfect “date night”. On their way to dinner, they made a pit stop to Coal Harbour as Alex suggested they take some photos to remember their vacation. As they strolled up to the unexpecting proposal spot, it finally sunk in and Kate realized that the moment she was hoping for was about to happen.
The SHE team set up the proposal spot with a customized calligraphed backdrop, complemented by a soft romantic floral arrangement, one of Vancouver’s best view and a bottle of bubbly to celebrate!
