How to Hint That You’re Ready for a Proposal

Proposal, proposal hint, why hasn't he proposed, am i ready for engagement, engaged, how to propose

Photo Credit: Simply Sweet Photography By Nomo Akisawa

Yay! Congrats! You’re in love, you’ve found your soulmate and you’re ready to start planning your dream wedding… but one problem: he hasn’t said those four little words yet. As much as we’d like to assume our sweethearts are mind readers and can pick up on all our signals that we’re ready for an engagement – sometimes that’s just not the case. So how do you let your significant other know you’re ready for them to pop the question? Keep reading to find out below!

1. Be open, communicate and have an honest conversation

It’s been said before, “honesty is the best policy” – but seriously, it’s so true. We get it, sometimes generating a conversation about marriage can be a toughie, especially if you’re unsure where he stands. But really, it’s something that can be done without the use of mind games or ultimatums. Be honest and have a conversation: tell him you’re ready to commit, you’re ready to take on the world with him and what you envision your future looks like together. Whether that be raising a hundred puppies together (one of our favorite dreams!) or traveling the world hand-in-hand – be clear that you want to spend the rest of your life loving each other and creating memories that’ll last a lifetime.

2. Share an inspiration board of rings and proposal ideas on your desktop

Yes, this one is a little more obvious but sometimes we got to cut some slack for our men! Creating easy findings will ultimately help them out by giving them insight into what you like. We love using platforms like Pinterest as it uses amazing visuals he can refer to.

3. Have your ring size known and give it to your bestie

Getting family and your closest friends involved in knowing the details about your dream proposal can totally be helpful. Whether that’s your best friend, sister, mom –  letting them in on specifics like your ring size or what kind of ring you would love is a step to success for your future fiancé. 4. Design the ring together

This is perfect for a bride-to-be with a modern personality. If you aren’t too into surprises but still want a custom, one-of-a-kind ring, designing one together could ease the pressure off your boyfriend. But make sure he has his say too – include him in the process and ask him what he thinks about certain elements and incorporate his suggestions into the overall design, so a little bit of both your personalities are represented. And if you need more support, we’ve got some amazing friends in the industry we would love to introduce you to!

Stephanie & Dave | Brew Creek Centre Wedding

Brew Creek Centre Wedding, Whistler Wedding, Sweetheart Events, Destination Wedding, Iron Man Winner Weds, Whistler,

It was September and the SHE team was headed off to Whistler for Stephanie and Dave’s Brew Creek Centre Wedding. Not only was this wedding a highlight of 2016 for us but these two beautiful humans were an absolute delight to work with annnnd TODAY is their anniversary!!!!

Love Story told by the bride:

“We met at summer camp in Ontario and after a 20 year hiatus, reconnected on the Big Island of Hawaii before the Ironman World Championships. Dave was doing business in the middle east and travelled for 36 hours to get to Hawaii where Steph was racing, yet they were also celebrating a mutual best friends birthday.

It was love at the finish line! Fast forward four years and on a vacation to Maui after an epic bike ride up the volcano and back down to the beach, Dave proposed with a gorgeous yellow diamond that Steph likes to refer to it as her Forever Pineapple.

We chose to get married in Whistler at Brew Creek Centre because it reminded us of summer camp as kids. Naturally, our wedding planner was like the Councellor who kept us in line. Thanks heavens for Steph!”

Working with Stephanie to coordinate the last details of the big day was so much fun! She always came prepared with enthusiasm but full trust in me and what I could provide to the day and overall experience. To Stephanie and Dave, they were most excited about the marriage that waited for them that day than any detail or decor element which made me love them even more BUT it was still fun to decorate their venue!

The night of the wedding, my team and I borrowed the loose greenery that was needed for the reception tables and created a euculyptus vine wall for the ceremony, added stumps and candles to add an intimate and romantic backdrop to their ceremony. It was a perfect surprise!

The morning of the wedding, Stephanie and her tribe went for a morning run while Dave and his tribe enjoyed a morning basketball game at the cabin. The couple didn’t want a traditional first look so they opted for a casual run in at their cabin (#campfrey) and new home in Whistler instead. After a few moments alone, the couple and their wedding party celebrated with champagne and canapés before heading over to the ceremony.

The ceremony was performed by one of their closest friends and the Man of Honour’s (now fiance) sang as the Bride and her brother (MOH) walked down the aisle. It was one of my all time favourite ceremonies to date! Every element of this wedding screamed Stephanie and Dave and I cannot thank them enough for choosing me as their planner. To be invited into a couple’s life on that special day is an extreme honour. I wish Stephanie and Dave a lifetime of happiness, filled with love, laughter and many warm nights in Maui together!

Enjoy some of my favourites!

What’s Your Bride Personality & Why It Matters?

Vancouver Wedding Hycroft Manor Sweetheart Events

Before the run-up to your wedding day actually starts, it might be hardly possible to tell which type of bride personality you refer to. But as soon as you hear that special question and say ‘yes’, your daily routine turns into a pre-wedding routine. And that’s when your bride personality begins to appear.

There is no consensus regarding what exactly affects women’s bride personality and makes different women behave in different ways. Some experts claim that our bride personality type is always linked to our moon phase personality type. Others say it’s all about our psychological portrait. Some others state it’s our zodiac sign what makes us refer to one bride personality type or the other. Whoever is closer to the truth, one thing remains exceptionally clear: bride personality types do exist and learning about them can help you better understand yourself – and your wedding-related wants and needs in particular.

The Princess

Here’s the truth. At a certain point in our life, almost each and every girl goes through this princess-like stage. Pink and nude colors, fancy dress, sweet perfumes, you name it. However, most of the girls outgrow this stage at the age of 16 or some years earlier. Those who don’t, however, turn into the princess type of bride one day. What does this bride type most famous for? A castle-like venue, lots of flowers and glitter, and sweet pop song for the first dance of the bride and the groom.

The DIY Bride

This type of bride has become increasingly common in the last few years. Brides of this type tend to start their wedding preparations well in advance and spend hours searing DIY wedding ideas on Pinterest and wedding magazines. What’s important is that DIY brides do not choose such an approach for the sake of saving money. They actually enjoy creating handmade wedding invitations, craft decor, and even paper pom-poms. Wonder what does this bride type is most known for? The DIY bride tends to gather a wedding army of girlfriends around and ask them to help out.

The Anti-Bride

This type of bride is not really common, but it surely deserves to be put on the list. The anti-bride refuses to have anything a normal bride would like to have. And this means no white dress (and sometimes no dress at all), no flower decor, no traditional ceremony and popular wedding traditions. The principle of the anti-bride is to go against all the classic wedding conventions and make sure everyone knows she is not into all these bride things.

The Last-Minute Bride

Yet another bride type that is worth being mentioned is the last-minute bride. Unlike the princess bride who has her wedding concept and all the details planned well in advance, this one is just the opposite. She doesn’t feel like reading wedding magazines, attending wedding workshops, or even dress hunting. She saves a lot of time skipping all these early preparation stages but spends all the saved minutes on explaining to people that she’ll sort things later. What’s most surprising is that the last-minute brides tend to have amazing weddings anyway. Last-minute decisions are not necessarily the bad decisions.

The Funny Bride

This bride personality is one of my personal favorites. The Funny Bride considers her wedding day as yet another party with friends drinking champagne and girls dancing themselves to exhaustion. What makes the funny bride so cool is that her wedding tends to contain an emotional ceremony, lots of entertainment and activities for guests, as well as the relaxing atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable and happy. The funny bride might sometimes go too far by paying too much attention (and spending too much money) on entertainment, but it is always worth it.

For the Finals

It doesn’t matter whether or not you believe in all this bride personality theory, you’ll surely agree that the above-mention bride types do exist. Which one do you think is yours?
